Wheat area crosses 275 lakh hectare mark

There is further rise in area under major rabi foodgrain and oilseed crops as per data received from States. Wheat, the most important rabi crop, has been sown in over 275 lakh hectare so far, more by 2 lakh ha as compared to this time last year.
The cropped areas this year and last year for major rabi crops are as follows:
