CACP Suggests Hike Of Rs 50 per qtl. For General Grade Paddy For The main Crop 2014-15

CACP (commission on agriculture costs and prices)of India has suggested givt to increase the minimum support price for common grade paddy(main crop 2014-15)to be transplanted from June onward.The commission has suggested an increase of Rs 50 per qtl. for 2014-15 crop.If govt. accepts the recomendation(almost likely)farmers would get Rs 1360 per qtl. for common grade paddy. Almost 4 percent increase from prom previous MSP(Rs 1310 per qtl.) is expected to encourage farmers to cover more area under main crop rice.Notably,MSP for wheat and rice has been on rise continuously.In case of rice it was Rs 580 per qtl. in 2006-07,now it would be Rs 1360 per qtl.up by 125 percent.
